Separation Support in Great Yarmouth

Separation can be one of the most difficult periods of family life. Whether you have recently separated or have been living apart for some time, it is not always clear what the next step should be. Questions about children, communication, finances or future family court proceedings can quickly become overwhelming.

Many people are unsure what to do first after separating. Taking the right steps early can often make later discussions about children, finances and future arrangements much easier.

I provide practical separation support for people in Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea, Caister-on-Sea, Bradwell, Belton, Hopton-on-Sea, Hemsby, Martham and Acle. My role is to help you understand your options, organise your situation and prepare for whatever comes next, whether that involves reaching an agreement, attending mediation or, where necessary, making an application to the Family Court.

How I Can Help After Separation.

Every separation is different. Some people simply want to understand where to start, while others are already facing disagreements about children, finances or communication.

I can help you:

  • understand the options available before starting court proceedings;
  • organise important paperwork and information;
  • prepare for mediation or discussions with the other parent;
  • understand when applications such as a Child Arrangements Order, Specific Issue Order or Prohibited Steps Order may become appropriate;
  • continue supporting you if your case later progresses to family court.

Support is available remotely throughout Norfolk and in person where appropriate. You can also view my current fees, travel arrangements and other areas covered on the Fees & Service Areas page.

Local Support Available in Great Yarmouth

Separation often involves much more than legal questions. Depending on your circumstances, you may benefit from emotional support, mediation or practical advice alongside family court preparation.

You may find the following organisations helpful:

  • East Mediation – family mediation for parents separating or resolving arrangements for children and finances.
  • Norfolk and Waveney Mind – counselling and emotional wellbeing support.
  • Great Yarmouth Family Hub – support for parents, children and families, including early help services.
  • Citizens Advice (Great Yarmouth) – guidance on housing, benefits, debt and other practical issues that can arise following separation.
  • Feathers Futures – a women’s support and recovery project based in Great Yarmouth for women recovering from domestic abuse.

My role is different. I focus on helping parents understand the family court process, organise documents, prepare applications where appropriate and make informed decisions about the next practical step.

Free Online Information Sessions

I also host free online information sessions covering separation, family court proceedings and child arrangements.

Upcoming sessions for people in Great Yarmouth and across Norfolk are published through the Great Yarmouth Mercury Local Events page.

Why Choose Everyman Justice?

Every separation is unique, and there is rarely a single “right” path for every family. Some parents are able to reach agreements without court, while others need additional support as new issues arise.

My aim is to help you understand your options, stay organised and make informed decisions without unnecessary stress. If court proceedings later become necessary, you’ll already have someone who understands your case and can continue supporting you throughout the process.
